History

We are a thriving club whose origins go back to 1909, when the building was purchased by a group of former Royal Marines and was known as the “Old Comrades Association”. This group were led by their President and founder, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) C.E.W. Hill.

In 1946 the building was renamed the Royal Marines Association Club; with the main objectives, to promote esprit de corps and comradeship among all serving and former Royal Marines, it concerns itself nationally with supporting the Royal Marines Association – The Royal Marines Charity (RMA-TRMC) and is an integral part of the local community.
