A warm welcome awaits you and your guests in the Halliday bar which has outstanding views overlooking Walmer Green and the Memorial Bandstand.
The Halliday bar is named after General Sir Lewis Stratford Tollemache Halliday, VC, KCB, DL. Royal Marine Light Infantry. Born 14th May 1870, gazetted to the Royal Marines Light Infantry February 1889. Served at Depot Royal Marines Deal 1884 as a lieutenant. On the 24th June 1900 he was awarded the Victoria Cross for action whilst severely wounded, repeatedly repelling Boxer attack on British Legation. He died following a short illness on the 9th March 1966.
